New music video for Misty’s “Can’t Find My Way Alone” is due out 3rd week in April! “We could have shot in Los Angeles or New York, but we chose to shoot where so much rock & roll history took place, Cleveland, OH” says Misty. The video was shot by a fresh newcomer Giuseppe Palumbo while under the close watch of Ivan Schwarz, Executive Director of The Greater Cleveland Film Commission who also shot “The Avengers” (in theaters May 4th) in Cleveland, OH. “The buzz around Northeast Ohio about us doing our music video there was exciting and will lead to more artists shooting in the future,” says Tom.

Second journey to Haiti

Freedom Child Entertainment (FCE) partners Tom Wilson and Misty Gonzales just returned from their second journey to Bethany Baptist Christina School (BBCS) in Cayes Jacmel, Haiti. Tom and Misty’s first visit to the children’s school in June 2011 was to begin a music program and hand carry in music instruments from the states to the school. Since then, the school now has 3 different bands, two music teachers, and the children are learning music theory 3 times a week!
“Its so fabulous to know that EVERY dollar we give goes 100 percent to our music program and other programs we’re starting at the school. We are confident that super star musicians, athletes, and leaders will surface from the school in the future,” says Tom.
FCE is on to their second mission creating a recreation center and implementing a physical education program into the school’s curriculum. Misty shares, “Our first visit there I shared time with 3 particularly friendly children who taught me a game they played – with rocks. My heart just broke. I felt they needed basketballs, hula-hoops, volleyballs, footballs, jump ropes and any thing else we could give them to play and enjoy a better quality of life.”
Freedom Child Entertainment (FCE) is raising funds to help support this new recreation center and physical education program via an app called “FREEDOM TO DREAM.” The app runs on Facebook and you do not need a Facebook account to navigate and participate in this app.

Misty had an interesting twist on what she’d wear on the red carpet by letting her Freedom Children vote between two garments she was considering. The blue 70’s vintage jumpsuit won by a landslide! Misty fronts Freedom Child Entertainment alongside her partner Tom Wilson which serves as a promotional tool and a way to help improve the lives of underprivileged children. “A portion of the proceeds from ‘Rock & Roll Freedom Show’ will help build a music program and quality of life program for Bethany Baptist Christian School, a children’s school in Cayes Jacmel, Haiti that FCE supports.” Right there I’m already a fan of this person due to her conscious efforts to help make this world a better place through her music and actions. So we know Misty Gonzales has got heart but how will that tie into the record?
Well folks I’m here to tell you that Gonzales passes with flying colors! She’s got soul (She’s “Super Bad”!), she’s got that true rock & roll spirit & attitude and she definitely sings from the heart. Misty starts up the Show with a track titled “Go-Getter” where the rock ‘n’ roll fever is alive & well and Misty’s energy level is sky high! All I have to say is to rock it girl and go get it! Up next you’ll hear tough guitar riffs and raw vocals that makes for one winning combo on “Love Is War”. Gonzales proves that she has got a little soul in her repertoire on track four “I’m Coming Home” with one solid performance. Then on song six “Hummingbird” Misty sounds a bit seductive by giving the audience a very low-key & intimate approach. Misty worked on ‘Rock & Roll Freedom Show’ for a year, co-writing and arranging songs with record producer Warren Huart (Aerosmith, The Fray, Korn, James Blunt, Daniel Powter). “My first meeting with Warren at Swing House Studios I was pretty nervous, but we kicked off the conversation with a lot of great ideas. We talked about my last record and what fresh direction we could approach my new record with. Warren’s background is amazing, so my nervousness turned to excitement pretty quickly,” says Misty. Musicians who tracked Misty’s new album are some who have recorded for Shakira, Sheryl Crow, Pete Townshend and Alanis Morissette. With arms sore from immunization shots, Freedom Child Entertainment (FCE) partners Tom Wilson and Misty Gonzales traveled to Haiti to meet first-hand the students of Bethany Baptist Christian School (BBCS). Their visit was coupled with the mission to start a Music Program for the school. Freedom Child Entertainment (FCE) worked together with Sam Ash Music Stores and delivered a first round of musical instruments. “Upon landing in Port-au-Prince, the scene was overwhelming. The human need there can not be described with words, but only tears,” says Misty. After a 4-hour drive through the mountains Tom and Misty arrived at the school, met the students and staff, and spent a full school day with them. “The poverty of Haiti is well documented in the media, but the vibrant spirit of the people, especially the students of BBCS is burning bright,” says Tom. “We were able to see how a little effort makes such a significant impact.” FCE will continue to be a strong supporter to enrich quality of life and education for the students at BBCS. “Our mission at FCE is to give people the freedom to dream, and in Haiti the most important place to start is at the future, which are her children” – Misty. FCE will release Misty’s new album ‘Rock & Roll Freedom Show’ later this month and plans to donate album and merch sales to further grow the Music Program and support a Breakfast Program.
